Start E Dialogs “Layers” section

“Layers” section

The “Layers” section is the topmost in the factory order of the panel on the right. It manages the layer list of the drawing; up to half the window height it grows, then the list scrolls.

The section: (1) lock bar, (2) toolbar, (3) live search, (4) auto row, (5) layer row, (6) system layers

Title row

Like every section the title row carries the grip ⠿ for re-ordering or tearing off and the triangle for folding (Panel sections). In between sits the lock bar with three buttons: 🔓 “Unlock all layers”, 🔒 “Lock all layers”, ◑ “Invert locking of all layers”. They switch without an undo step; the status bar reports “All layers unlocked” / “All layers locked” / “Layer locking inverted”.

Live search

The field “Search layers…” filters the list while typing by number or name; several words must all occur. Esc clears the field, and so does the small ✕ at the right inside the field, which since program version v3.0.39 appears as soon as something has been typed. During a search the auto row steps back; eye, lock and active layer stay untouched. Without a match “No layer matches the search” is shown.

Search for “ach”: only “ACHSEN” remains

Auto row “0”

The row “0 · Auto (vom Objekt)” is the auto mode: results of functions take the layer of the clicked object. A click switches it on; a real layer switches it off. The tooltip of the row explains the mode (German in every language).

The active row is highlighted in blue. Eye, lock and colour of the row act at once and without an undo step.

System layers

The seven rows below the list are global eyes for object types — System layers: Dimensions, Remarks, Hatches, Constraints, Images, Text, Leaders. A click on the row toggles; the status bar reports “… visible” / “… hidden”.
