Drawing a slot with dimensions

Goal#

A horizontal slot with a 40 mm centre distance and 10 mm width, entered exactly as numbers.

Steps#

1. In the triangle on the Rectangle button choose the Slot tool (2).
2. Click the first centre (1) — with object snap at the desired position or with K as a coordinate.
3. In the floating field type L = 40, Tab, ∠ = 0, Enter — the second centre (2) is thus 40 mm to the right.
4. In field B type 10 and press Enter (3).

Result#

The status bar reports Slot drawn — group “Langloch” (width 10.00). The group Langloch appears in the Groups section; a click on its row selects all four parts. For the next slot field B already offers the 10 mm.
