Hatch settings

Purpose#

Opens the Hatch Settings dialog: pattern and pattern definition, layer, origin, tolerance, point markers, opacity, islands, search area, line type filter and the switch between automatic and manual area definition. All values are defaults for new hatches.

How to start#

• Ribbon: gear at the right end of the bar (1), then Hatch settings (2).
• Classic toolbar: gear on the right, entry Hatch settings (the same list as in the ribbon).
• Automatically when the Hatch tool is started: the window opens floating next to the drawing.
• Command search : type Hatch settings.

Procedure#

1. Start the command. The window appears without dimming the drawing; you can keep drawing while it is open.
2. Change values — every change takes effect on the defaults immediately, a pattern change is confirmed in the status bar.
3. OK applies and closes with the message Hatch settings saved; Close only closes — the changes are already in effect.

The window can be dragged by its title; the position is remembered for the session.
