Navigate the drawing

Goal#

Look at a detail (a hole) filling the screen, check something next to it and return to the overall view — without changing the drawing.

Steps#

1. W (zoom window), drag a frame around the hole: the section fills the window. Esc ends the zoom window.
2. With the middle mouse button held down (or Alt + left button) pan the view to the neighbouring hole.
3. Zoom finer with the mouse wheel — the point under the pointer stays in place.
4. H zooms out stepwise, A shows the whole drawing again.

Result#

The zoom factor is shown at the right of the status bar. The view is saved with the drawing and restored when opening.
