How do I hatch an area?
- Check that the area is completely enclosed by edges — lines, arcs, circles, rectangles, polylines, splines or blocks.
- Start Hatch (ribbon Annotate or classic toolbar). The Hatch Settings dialog opens next to the drawing.
- Choose the pattern in the dialog and set angle and spacing. Changes apply immediately.
- Click inside the area. The program searches the boundary and creates the hatch; the status bar reports Hatch created: ANSI31 ….
- Click further areas or end the command with Esc.
Tip
If the area stays empty, the boundary is usually open at a corner. Zoom in on the corners and check the end points with the Endpoint snap mode. Further causes: No closed area found.
Note
With Visible area only (faster) switched on, the whole area must be in view. If it extends beyond, zoom out or switch the option off.
