“Edit Layer” dialog
The dialog opens with “✎ Edit” in the “Layers” section (for the active layer) or with a second quick click on a layer row.
Fields
No.
Ordering number 0–999; the list is sorted by it. Duplicate numbers are allowed but not recommended.
Name
Label of the layer. Empty becomes “Layer”. The name is the key for DXF profiles and print profiles and the comparison value for the setup field “Dimension layer”.
Color
Colour picker of the browser. “OK” writes the colour onto all elements of the layer.
Line type
Drop-down with eight types: Solid, Dashed, Dotted, Dash-dot, Center line and the three special types Sealing layer, Ventilation grid, Structural bonding. The type applies to all elements without their own line style. If the layer changes to a special type, it gets the snapshot of the current pattern values from the “Line types” dialog; when changing away it is dropped (Line types).
Width (screen)
Line width on screen in pixels, 0.5–10 in steps of 0.5 (factory 1.5 for new layers). “OK” writes it onto all elements of the layer.
Width (printer mm)
Line width in print in millimetres, 0.05–2 in steps of 0.05 (factory 0.25). Acts in the print dialog and the SVG export; no influence on screen.
Visible, Locked
The same switches as eye and lock in the row.
Move contents …, Copy contents …
Open the “Move / copy layer contents” dialog for this layer. The editor stays open and closes only if its layer was deleted together with the contents.
Cancel, OK
“Cancel” (also a click beside the dialog) discards everything. “OK” applies the fields, writes colour and screen width onto all elements of the layer and reports “Layer "…" updated”.
Own line styles of individual elements survive “OK”; only colour and width are unified. The operation has no undo step.
