How do I change a block?

Change all instances

  1. Select an instance and click with the right mouse button → 📐 Edit block. Or the row button 📐 in the panel Blocks.
  2. The drawing disappears; only the block geometry lies on the canvas, the orange cross is the insertion point.
  3. Change with all tools — draw, delete, dimension, hatch.
  4. Click Save in the banner at the top. All instances show the new state. Cancel discards.

Change only some instances

  1. Select the affected instances — not all of the block.
  2. Right-click → 🧬 Split off as variant. The program creates Name (2), re-attaches the instances and opens the editor.
  3. Change and save. The remaining instances stay unchanged; afterwards adjust the BOM data of the variant.

Change one instance freely

Right-click on the instance → Explode: the instance becomes ordinary elements that you edit individually. The definition and the other instances stay untouched.

Change only the name or the BOM data

Right-click → 🧩 BOM data…: block name, designation, article number, material and further fields — without the editor.
