Polygon
Purpose
Draws a regular polygon with 3 to 200 corners — hexagon, octagon, triangle and everything in between. The polygon is created as one element and can be moved, rotated and scaled as a whole.
Access
- Ribbon: group Draw, button Polygon (7) — the polygon stands on its own, without a family.
- Classic toolbar: button in the Draw tool group.
- Command search : Polygon.
Procedure
The floating window N-Eck opens with the tool; it holds the number of corners and the position relative to the circle. Then:
- Click the centre (1).
- Drag or enter the radius (2) — Drag or enter the radius…. The preview rotates with the mouse, so the polygon stands in the desired position right away.

Esc cancels. The window closes when you end the tool.
Corners and position
The two entries in the window apply to all polygons until you change them:
- Ecken (N) (1): 3 to 200; the buttons − and + change the value step by step.
- Lage zum Kreis (2): innen (Ecke folgt Cursor) puts the corners on the auxiliary circle, aussen (Seite folgt Cursor) puts the sides tangentially against it — with aussen the radius therefore equals the width across flats divided by two.

Described field by field: window N-Eck.
Options
- The polygon is created on the active layer; pick up attribute (J) applies beforehand.
- Object snap applies to the centre; with K it can be entered as a coordinate.
- Every polygon is a separate step for Undo.
