Save standard part from selection

Purpose#

Writes the selected elements as a standard part file Name.json into the browser's download folder. Placed on the server in normteile/<category>/, the part appears in the library after Reload the list. Context: Saving your own standard parts.

Access#

• Right-click on the selected elements → 🧩 Save as standard part (2 in the picture at Create block from selection).
• Command search : type Save standard part.

The command has no button in the ribbon or the classic toolbar.

Procedure#

1. Draw the part so that its insertion point lies at the origin (0, 0); select the elements.
2. Start the command. An input field Standard part name: appears at the mouse, preset with Standard part.
3. Enter the name, Enter. The browser downloads Name.json; status line: Standard part "Name" downloaded — place it on the server in normteile/<category>/.

Without a selection the command switches to post-selection and continues after confirmation.

Rules#

• Saved along are dimensions, hatches, constraints, welds, groups and block definitions of the selected elements as well as the layers they lie on. If the selection contains nothing storable: No storable geometry in the selection.
• The name becomes the file name; invalid characters are replaced by _.
• The preview image of the tile is generated automatically from the geometry.
• The command does not create BOM fields (bom, meta); add them in the file or maintain the data on the block after inserting as block (Insert as block).
