Purpose
Opens the floating print dialog. In the model you use it to place a print area at paper size and set the scale; on a sheet, that sheet is output 1:1. “🖨 Print” builds the page and opens it in the browser’s print window.
Access
- Ribbon, group “File”: the large “Print” button (1).
- Classic bar: at a narrow window width the whole “File & import/export” group sits in the overflow menu “☰” on the far left (1) — “Print” is inside (2).
- Key Ctrl + P.
- Command search : “Print” (category File).
Procedure in the model
- Ctrl+P — the dialog appears and the print area hangs from the pointer (“Position the print area — click = fix, Ctrl+wheel = scale, wheel = zoom”).
- Set paper, orientation, scale and margins (Print dialog).
- A click on the drawing area fixes it (“Print area fixed — click the canvas = reposition, 🖨 = print”); another click releases it (“Move the print area — click = fix”).
- “🖨 Print” — the print window opens (“Print preview opened”).
Procedure on a sheet
With a sheet open there is nothing to place: “Printing layout: the sheet is output 1:1”. Paper, orientation, scale and margins are greyed out, and the note line names the sheet, its format and “Sheet prints 1:1, scale per viewport”. “🖨 Print” outputs the whole sheet.

The dialog can be dragged by its title bar.
Effect
Printing does not change the drawing. All settings — line widths, print profiles and calibration included — belong to the program settings and are kept (Printing).
