New drawing
Purpose
Discards the current drawing and starts an empty drawing Unbenannt in model space.
Access
- Key: Ctrl + N.
- File menu → 🗎 New drawing (1) — in the ribbon group File & import/export, in the classic toolbar the button at the far left.
- Command search : New drawing or new.
Procedure
- If changes are unsaved, the program asks Discard unsaved changes?. Cancel leaves everything as it is.
- The drawing is emptied: elements, dimensions, hatches, constraints, groups, block definitions, guide lines and all sheets of the paper space are dropped; the undo list is cleared.
- The default layers are created, the layer SICHTBAR is active, all eye switches (dimensions, hatches, constraints, images, texts, leaders) are set to visible.
- The snap is set to automatic, the view shows the origin centred. The status bar reports New drawing.
Options
None. The dimension style returns to your own saved default if the previous drawing brought its own style (Settings and dimension styles). The author from the drawing info is preset.
