Delete

Purpose#

Removes the selected elements, dimensions, hatches and guide lines from the drawing.

Access#

• Key: Del or ⌫ (backspace).
• Ribbon: group Action Delete (3).
• Classic toolbar: button Delete (3).
• Tool window: section Edit → Delete.
• Command search : Delete.

Procedure#

1. Select elements (Select).
2. Call the command. Without a selection nothing happens.
3. Together with the elements the dimensions attached to them disappear, the constraints they take part in and the entries in groups and welds. Chain and baseline dimensions close the resulting gap. One step for Undo.

Options#

None. Elements on locked layers or in locked groups cannot be selected and therefore not deleted. Dimensions can also be selected without their element and deleted individually.
