Placing text and a leader

Goal#

A drawing that says, besides the dimensions, what the part is made of and what to watch out for at one spot.

Steps#

1. Create a layer of its own for the annotation and set it active.
2. Key X or ribbon, group “Annotate” → “Text”.
3. Enter the text in the dialog, set the height, leave the anchor point at “centre”, “OK”.
4. Place the text with a click — the preview on the pointer is the bounding box; further clicks place copies, Esc ends the series.
5. For the hint: tool “Leader” , first click the bore (arrow tip), then the text end.
6. Enter the text in the prompt, “Ø20 H7” for instance.

Result#

Material note and hint sit on a layer of their own and can be shown and hidden for other outputs.
