Cleaning up a drawing

Goal#

Bring a drawing that has been worked on for a long time, or that was imported, back into a clean state.

Steps#

1. Save first — that secures the starting state.
2. File menu File → “🧹 Check & clean up drawing…” (1).
3. Wait for the check. Look at each finding type with “👁 Show” — the view jumps there and the spots blink orange.
4. Under “DATA AND REFERENCES” leave everything ticked that should be removed.
5. Under “GEOMETRY RECOMMENDATIONS” only tick what you really want — “explode polylines” breaks the outlines into single lines.
6. “🧹 Clean up”.

Result#

The drawing is free of useless elements; the status bar names the number of elements removed.
