Dimension settings
Purpose
Opens the Dimension Settings dialog with font, arrows, decimal places, unit, arrow type and the dimension styles. The values apply to new dimensions; existing dimensions you change with Apply or the attribute panel. Connections: Settings and dimension styles.
Access
- Ribbon: gear on the right of the ribbon (1), entry ⚙ Dimension settings in the list.
- Classic toolbar: gear on the right, the same entry.
- Command search: no entry of its own; searching Dimension leads to the tool.
Procedure
- Open the dialog. It shows the currently valid defaults.
- Change values or choose a style under Dimension style — the choice loads its values into the fields without applying them yet. For a factory style (★) a hint appears that it is part of the delivery.
- OK applies the values for new dimensions and saves the settings (Dimension settings saved); Cancel or a click beside the dialog discards.
Options

| Save as… | asks for a name (Dimension style name) and creates an own style |
| Delete | deletes the chosen own style after confirmation (Delete dimension style “…”?) |
| Apply | transfers all dialog values to the selected dimensions (n dimension(s) adjusted); without a selection the program enters post-selection (Apply dimension attributes: choose dimensions — Enter or right-click accepts, ESC cancels) |
| ★ Save as default | stores all values with the style permanently for the next start (Saved as default — these values apply at the next start) |
| OK | apply the defaults for new dimensions |
All fields are described field by field.
Keys
The command has no shortcut key. Esc does not close the dialog; use Cancel.
