Transfer settings to another computer

Goal#

Work on a second computer (or in another browser) with the same settings: snap, grid, dimension and hatch defaults, layer list, print profiles, favourites, window positions, layout, your own dimension styles and DXF profiles.

Steps#

1. On the source computer open the gear → Setup.
2. In the box Manage settings click 📤 Export (JSON). The file cad2d_settings_YYYY-MM-DD.json lands in the download folder; the status bar reports Settings exported as a file.
3. Bring the file to the target computer (USB, Dropbox, e-mail).
4. There, likewise gear → Setup → 📥 Import (JSON), choose the file. Message Settings imported from "…"; the dialog shows the adopted values at once.
5. Check language, layout and day/night — they came along.

Result#

The target computer works with all settings of the source computer. Not transferred, on purpose: registration, launch counter, the confirmation of the disclaimer and of the constraint note and the panel width — they belong to the individual computer (what stays on the computer).
