Program start

LiberoDraft runs entirely in the browser. Nothing is installed; the program address is all you need. This page describes what happens at the first and at every further start.

Opening in the browser#

Open the program address in a current browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox or Safari). The program window fills the browser tab; the drawing area adapts to the window size. The browser tab shows the file name of the drawing and the program version, for example Unbenannt — LiberoDraft v3.0.23. A dot ● in front of it means: unsaved changes.

Info box at the first start#

At the first start — and at every further one as long as the disclaimer has not been confirmed — the info box opens. It shows version and build date, the start counter, the publisher details, a separate section about standard parts and the general disclaimer.

With the checkbox (1) Disclaimer understood — do not show this info box automatically at program start anymore you confirm the notice. The status bar reports Disclaimer confirmed — the info box is no longer shown automatically at startup. The confirmation is stored in the browser on this computer; on another computer or after clearing the browser data the box appears again. You can reopen the info box at any time via the gear → Info / About or the command Info / About; the checkbox can be cleared there as well.

Default drawing#

As long as the disclaimer has not been confirmed, LiberoDraft loads the file Default-Drawing.cad2d from the program folder at start and shows it as an example. The file name in the status bar then reads Default-Drawing. If the file is missing, the program starts silently with an empty drawing. After the confirmation every start begins with an empty drawing Unbenannt.

Language#

At the very first start LiberoDraft adopts the browser language: if it is German, the interface appears in German, in all other cases in English. As soon as you choose the language in the Settings dialog, your choice applies at every further start. Procedure: Change the language; details: Setup and settings.

The initial state#

• The view shows the origin (red-green axis cross) centred with a margin whose size is set in the Settings dialog (Margin from origin).
• The tool Select is active, the snap mode is Automatic (Snap mode).
• The status bar reports Ready — choose a tool or use a keyboard shortcut, followed by a version note and the start counter.
• All saved settings (grid, snap automatic, ribbon or classic toolbar, language, favourites, panel order) are already active again; they live in the browser of this computer. What stays on the computer and what travels with the drawing: Storage locations.

Printing this help#

Every page of this help carries the button “🖨 Print” at the top right. It offers This page, This section and Whole help; through Choose … single sections and pages can be ticked, optionally with a title page and a table of contents.

Closing the program#

LiberoDraft is closed by closing the browser tab. If changes are unsaved, the browser asks before closing. Save beforehand with Ctrl + S (Save); LiberoDraft does not keep a backup copy in the background.
