How do I change a hatch afterwards?
The defaults in the dialog affect new hatches only. Existing hatches are changed via their selection:
- Choose Select and click inside the hatched area (not inside an island). The hatch is tinted, its boundary highlighted.
- Change the values in the Properties panel on the right — pattern, angle, spacing, color, opacity, line width, line type, origin, layer. Every change applies immediately and only to the selected hatches.
- Change the Z level with the arrow buttons in the panel or with PgUp and PgDn.

Move a hatch to another area
Drag the black seed-point square of the selected hatch into the new area. On release the area is searched there. If there is no closed area, the point jumps back.

Adopt defaults from a hatch
Switch on Pick up [J] in the header bar and click into a hatch: pattern, layer and opacity become the defaults for the next hatches.
Note
Manual hatches have no seed-point square; their properties are also changed in the panel, their outline only by re-creating them.
