Window N-Eck
What it is for
The polygon tool needs two inputs that do not follow from clicks: the number of corners and the position relative to the circle. Both stand in a small window that opens with the tool and closes with it. It can be moved freely by its title bar.
The fields
Ecken (N) (1) — the number of corners, 3 to 200. The value can be typed or changed step by step with the buttons − and +. The factory value is 6.
Lage zum Kreis (2) — determines how the polygon sits relative to the auxiliary circle you drag while drawing:

| innen (Ecke folgt Cursor) | The corners lie on the circle; the radius is the circumcircle radius. The cursor leads a corner. |
| aussen (Seite folgt Cursor) | The sides lie tangentially against the circle; the radius is the incircle radius, that is half the width across flats. The cursor leads the middle of an edge. |
For hexagon bolts and nuts aussen is the right entry: there the width across flats is the dimension given in the standard.
Hint line — below the fields the sequence is repeated in short: click the centre, then drag or enter the radius; Esc cancels.
× (close) — ends the tool (tooltip Finish the tool).
What is remembered
Number of corners and position are kept for the whole session: on the next call of the tool they are still set as you last used them.
This window is not translated in the English interface — the title N-Eck, the labels Ecken (N): and Lage zum Kreis:, both entries and the hint line appear in German there as well (program version v3.0.24).
