Hole row and bolt circle with the array

Goal#

A hole should stand five times 25 mm apart in a row; a second hole should be distributed six times around a hub as a bolt circle.

Steps#

Hole row

1. Draw the hole with Circle and select it.
2. Choose Array in the group Modify and click in the drawing area (1) — the field Z/S/dY/dX opens.
3. Enter Z = 1, S = 5, dX = 25 (dY plays no role with one row) and press Enter.

Bolt circle

1. Draw the second hole and select it; in the triangle of the family Array choose Polar array .
2. Click the centre of the hub (1) — the snap Centre helps.
3. Enter N = 6, ∠ = 360; whether with self-rotation or without is chosen plays no role for a circle. Press Enter.

Result#

The status line reports Array 1×5: 4 element copies created and Polar array: 5 element copies around (x, y). The holes are individual circles; a click on one of them selects only this one. For ribs or lugs the self-rotation decides whether the copies stand radially (with) or all keep the same orientation (without).
