Window Measure

The window opens with the tool Measure (I) at the top centre above the drawing area. It can be moved by its title and closes with the tool.

Mode#

The list at the top chooses the measuring type: Element info, Distance (2 points), Point (coordinates cart. + polar), Chain measurement (Σ over points), Min. distance (2 elements), Angle (2 lines), Area & perimeter. A change discards the running measurement; the chosen mode stays for the session.

Automatisch / Manuell#

Only in the mode Area & perimeter. Automatisch (automatic): one click into a closed area finds the contour as when hatching (Hatches). Manuell (manual): click the contour elements one by one and finish with Enter; Esc cancels.

Bezug, Bezug setzen, ↺#

Only in the mode Point. Bezug: (reference) shows the reference point of the coordinates — Nullpunkt (origin) or the set coordinates. Bezug setzen (set reference) expects a click (with object snap) on the new reference point; the status bar reports Point mode: click the reference point. ↺ resets the reference to the origin (Reference point: origin).

Hint#

The grey line explains the next step of the chosen mode, for example Click two points (with object snap). ΔX/ΔY are shown in colour..

Result#

The table with label and value: in the mode Element info the key values of the element, with Distance distance, angle, ΔX, ΔY and the two points, with the chain measurement Teil 1, Teil 2 … with running sum Σ, Gesamt (total) and Punkte (points), with the area area, perimeter and centroid. All lengths carry the dimension unit of the drawing, areas its square. If the measurement went through a viewport, the line Hinweis: Model values through viewport is shown.

📍 Schwerpunkt als Punkt einfügen#

Only after an area measurement: puts the calculated centroid as a point element into the drawing (snappable with Point).

Kopieren#

Puts the result lines as text into the clipboard; message Measured values copied, without a result Nothing to copy.

Schliessen#

Ends the tool and switches to Select. The coloured auxiliary displays in the drawing disappear; nothing remains.
