Header bar above the drawing area

The narrow bar between ribbon (or classic toolbar) and drawing area shows the structure switches needed constantly while drawing. It is visible with the tools “Select” and “Move” and gives way to other tools.

Layer#

Colour dot and drop-down of the active layer (“n: Name” and “Auto”). The choice makes the layer active (status bar “Layer: Name”) or switches the auto mode on (“Layer mode: auto (from the object)”). The same choice as in the “Layers” section.

Z level#

Drawing Z level for new objects; “−” and “+” change it by one step (“Drawing Z level: n”). See Z levels.

💉 Pick up [J]#

Arms “Pick up attributes” (key J as well): the next click on an element adopts layer and properties for further drawing; the button turns orange, Esc cancels. See Pick up attributes.

◐ Isolate, ◌ Hide, ◉ Show all#

The session view: show only the selection, take the selection out of view (continuous mode, button blue), bring everything back (“Show all” blue as long as something is isolated or hidden). Never saved. See Isolate and hide.
