Filleting and chamfering corners

Goal#

A rectangular plate of four lines should get two rounded corners with R 10 and two chamfers 5 × 45°.

Steps#

1. In the group Modify choose Fillet .
2. Click the first line of the corner (1), then the second (2). The field R: appears.
3. Type 10 and press Enter — the arc is created in the sector where the pointer is (3); repeat the steps for the second corner.
4. Choose Chamfer ; click the first line of the third corner on the side that stays (1), then the second (2).
5. In the chamfer field enter D1 = 5 and D2 = 5 — with equal distances the chamfer is 45° — and confirm with Enter; the fourth corner likewise.

Result#

Two corners carry a tangent arc, two a bevel; the lines are shortened to the transitions. If a chamfer should have another angle, switch the field to angle and distance with → ∠/D (chamfer field).
