Dimensions to back
Purpose
Puts all dimensions, feature control frames and datum features of the drawing on the lowest occupied Z level so that they lie behind hatches, images and geometry and hide nothing. Connections: Z level, layer, visibility.
Access
- Ribbon: group Annotate, list of the split button Dimension, entry Send to back Send to back (8 in the picture at Dimension).
- Classic toolbar: list of the split button Dimension, entry Send to back.
- Command search : type Dimensions to back.
Procedure
The command acts immediately, without selection and without further click. The status bar reports n dimensions/GD&T moved to the lowest Z level (z). If everything is already at the bottom, it reports Everything is already on the lowest Z level (z), and no undo step is created. The tool does not change; you continue with the previously active tool.
The lowest level is the lowest Z level occupied by any object of the drawing — not necessarily 0. Individual dimensions you raise or lower instead with PgUp/PgDn or with the Z buttons in the Properties panel.
Keys
The command has no shortcut key. Ctrl+Z undoes it.
