How do I put dimensions to the back?

Dimensions lie on Z levels like all other objects. If a hatch or an image covers the dimension text, or dimensions lie disturbingly in front of the geometry:

1. In the Annotate group open the list under the dimension icon and click Send to back Send to back, or type Dimensions to back in the command search.
2. The status bar reports how many dimensions, feature control frames and datum features were put on the lowest Z level. No selection is needed.

Individual dimensions#

Select the dimension and press PgDn (one level back) or PgUp; the Properties panel has the buttons Send to back, One level down, One level up, Bring to front.

Hide dimensions#

In the layer panel click the eye of the system layer ◇ Dimensions: all dimensions, feature control frames, datum features and balloons disappear until you click again. For printing without dimensions this switch is enough.
