Adjust the snap automatic

Goal#

The automatic (Q) should snap only to the points you need — for instance without Nearest point on element if it gets in the way in dense geometry — and nearby endpoints should be welded correctly.

Steps#

1. Click ⚙ Snap at the right of the status bar.
2. Check or uncheck the snap types: Endpoint, Midpoint, Intersection, Center, Nearest point on element, Tangent point, Point.
3. Under Auto-weld decide: leave it active for connected contours; for very close but separate lines (thin material thicknesses) switch it off or reduce the Fixed tolerance.
4. OK. The status bar reports Snap settings saved · auto-weld: ….
5. If a snap chosen by hand should stay when a drawing tool is called, remove the checkbox Snap to automatic for geometry tools in the gear → Setup and Apply.

Result#

While drawing, the automatic shows only the chosen snap symbols. Disabled types remain reachable as a single mode by key (E, M, S, Z, L, P).
