Messages about paper space

Messages appear in the status bar at the bottom, as a tooltip at the pointer or as a browser prompt. The texts are reproduced as the program shows them; placeholders such as n or name stand for the respective value.

Sheets

Layout name:

Prompt after double-clicking a sheet tab. The name entered appears in the tab; an empty name is not accepted.

Delete layout “name” permanently? All sheet elements of this layout will be lost (cannot be undone).

Prompt from “Delete layout” in the “Page setup” dialog. Note: Undo will not help afterwards. Remedy: save first.

Layout deleted

Status bar after the confirmation. If the sheet was open, the program is now in model space.

· n sheet(s) imported

Part of the message when importing a drawing — the sheets of the foreign file were appended.

Creating a viewport

New viewport: click the first corner on the sheet (Escape cancels)

Status bar after “🗔 Draw new viewport”.

Click the opposite corner

Status bar after the first click; the blue frame follows the mouse.

Viewport too small — cancelled

Status bar when width or height is below 5 mm. Remedy: draw it larger.

Cancelled

Status bar after Esc or the right mouse button while drawing.

Viewport created — scale 1:n

Status bar after the second click. The scale is the next standard scale that takes in the whole model.

Working with a viewport

Viewport: click = select (then movable) · drag = selection box · double-click = pan/zoom the model through the viewport · right-click = scale and options

Tooltip at the pointer over an unselected viewport.

Selected viewport: drag = move · corners = size · double-click = pan/zoom the model through the viewport · right-click = scale and options

Tooltip over the selected (blue) viewport.

Active viewport: drag moves the model view, mouse wheel changes the scale — double-click outside finishes

Tooltip over the active (orange) viewport.

Model through the window: drag pans the view, mouse wheel changes the scale — double-click outside to finish

Status bar when a viewport is activated (double-click or “Edit”).

Viewport selected — drag to move, the corner grips resize

Brief hint at the pointer after a viewport has been selected by its frame.

Viewport selected — drag to move it

Status bar after “✥ Move”.

Viewport selected — drag a corner grip to resize

Status bar after “⤡ Resize (corner grips)”.

Viewport is locked — right-click opens its settings

Status bar on a double-click, “Edit”, “Move” or “Resize” at a locked viewport. Remedy: right-click → “🔓 Unlock”.

Viewport locked / Viewport unlocked

Status bar after “🔒 Lock” or “🔓 Unlock”.

Through-hatch selected — not the viewport. Click the frame to select the viewport

Brief hint when a hatch fills the viewport area. Remedy: click the viewport frame.

Scale and view

View fitted — scale 1:n

Status bar after “⤢ Fit to contents”.

Nothing to fit

Status bar with an empty model. Remedy: draw something in model space first.

Viewport scale 1:n: set the model reference scale for line type patterns to 1:n as well? This makes the MODEL show the same patterns as this viewport. The viewport image itself stays unchanged — through the viewport paper sizes apply (true to print).

Prompt after setting a viewport scale when the drawing carries special line types and the scales differ. “OK” adjusts the model’s reference scale so that model and viewport show the same pattern; the viewport image itself stays unchanged. Free zooming with the wheel never asks.

Model reference scale set to 1:n

Status bar after “OK” on the prompt above.

Outside the viewport — point reset

Status bar when the second point of a through-dimension lies outside the viewport. Remedy: put both points inside the same viewport.

Model value through viewport / Model values through viewport

Note in the “Edit dimension” dialog: the dimension shows the model’s value, not the paper distance (Dimensions in viewports).

Copying and deleting viewports

Viewport copied

Status bar after “⧉ Copy” in the menu or in the “Viewport” dialog.

Viewport deleted

Status bar after “🗑 Delete” in the menu. The through-hatches and through-dimensions of that viewport go with it.

Viewport deleted — Undo restores it

Status bar after “Delete” in the “Viewport” dialog.

The viewport of this through-hatch no longer exists

Status bar when a hatch has lost its viewport. Remedy: undo, or delete the hatch and create it again.

No closed area found in the viewport

Status bar when hatching through a viewport without a closed contour (Hatching in a viewport).

Hatch created in the viewport: pattern

Status bar after a successful through-hatch.

Frame and title block

Frame and title block inserted — n elements (freely editable)

Status bar after “🗒 Insert frame + title block”. Every element can be changed individually.

Active layer is locked/hidden — frame and title block inserted on layer “name”

Status bar when the active layer could not be written to. Remedy: move the elements to the layer you want afterwards (“Properties” panel).
