Rectangle

Purpose#

Draws an axis-parallel rectangle over two opposite corners.

Access#

• Key: R.
• Ribbon: group Draw Rectangle (2); in the triangle next to it Rectangle (3 points, rotated), slot and curved slot.
• Classic toolbar: button Rectangle (4).
• Command search : Rectangle.

Procedure#

1. Click the first corner (1).
2. The preview follows the mouse; the input field shows width and height (ΔX/ΔY) or diagonal and angle (polar).
3. Click the opposite corner (2) — or type the width, Tab, type the height, Enter. Negative values extend to the left or downwards.

A rectangle with a side shorter than 0.01 mm is not created. With the checkbox Create dimension while drawing set, width and height dimension are created along.

Options#

With the tool the small movable window ▭ Rectangle opens; it also applies to Rectangle (3 points, rotated) and closes with the tool. The × in the window ends the tool.

• Diagonals crosswise: two diagonals are drawn along as real lines in colour and layer of the rectangle and put into a group Rechteck mit Diagonalen together with it.
• As separate lines (exploded): the rectangle is immediately resolved into four lines (as with Explode); the dimensions then hang on two edges. With diagonals no group is created in this case — exploded means everything separate.
• Diagonal line width: line width of the diagonals (0 = hairline, at most 10).

The three settings are saved with the program settings.
