Start D Command reference Insert local standard part

Insert local standard part

Purpose

Inserts a standard part from a file on your own computer — without it being in the server library. Afterwards everything works as when inserting from the panel: placement HUD, Insert as block, On current layer. Context: Inserting and placing.

Access

  • Panel Standard parts: button Insert a local standard part to the right of the folder path (2 in the picture at Standard parts).
  • Command search : type local standard part.

Procedure

  1. Click the button; the browser's file dialog opens (.json).
  2. Choose the file. The part hangs at the mouse: Standard part "Name": a click places it (multiple times possible) · R=rotate · H/V=mirror · +/−=scale · ESC/right-click finishes.
  3. Place as described for the placement HUD; every click reports Element(s) pasted (n×) — keep clicking or ESC to finish, Esc ends (Placement finished — n standard part(s) inserted).

Rules

  • Only files with the identifier liberodraft-part (Invalid standard part file); without geometry: The standard part contains no valid geometry.
  • The check boxes Insert as block and On current layer apply to local parts as well.
  • A part from the library is inserted with a click on its tile instead.
