How do I dimension an angle?
- Choose Dimension and click the first line — without point snap, so not at an endpoint.
- Click the second line. It must not be parallel to the first. Both lines are highlighted, the status bar reads Choose the angle sector with the mouse, then click….
- Move the pointer around the intersection: the two lines and their extensions form four sectors; the preview shows the angle of the sector the pointer is in. The distance of the pointer from the intersection is the radius of the dimension arc.
- Click. The angular dimension is placed, Edit dimension opens.

Make the angle driving
In Edit dimension click 🔒 driving and enter the angle (below 360°). The first chosen line keeps its direction, the second is rotated about the intersection. A fixed line Fixed cannot be rotated; choose it as the first line.
Angles without selectable lines
If there are no lines, or if they cannot be selected individually — at the bend of a polyline, for instance — dimension the angle from three points:
- Choose Angle from 3 points from the list of the Annotate group.
- Click the vertex, then one point on each leg. Point snap binds the points to the geometry so that the angle follows it.
- Place the dimension arc. The side decides: between the legs the enclosed angle, opposite it the angle over 180°.

This dimension always stays driven; Edit dimension does not open by itself. Details: Angle from 3 points.
If at the second click you snap the shared corner of both lines, the angular dimension is created as well. An angular dimension to an arc is not possible. For a polyline segment there are two ways: explode the polyline — or dimension the angle from three points (see above).
