Clipboard: Cut, Copy, Paste
Purpose
The clipboard keeps a selection — elements with their dimensions, hatches, welds and constraints, and on request dimensions and hatches alone — ready to be pasted elsewhere, into another sheet or into a second browser window. When pasting, the copy hangs at the pointer like a standard part and can be rotated, mirrored and scaled before placing.
The difference to the tool Copy: there you move copies with base and target point within the same drawing; the clipboard separates copying and pasting and works across drawings.
Access
- Keys: Ctrl + C Copy, Ctrl + X Cut, Ctrl + V Paste.
- Right-click menu on the selection: Cut (1), Copy (2), Paste (3).
- Command search : Clipboard: copy, … paste, … cut.
- Groups section: right-click a group row — Copy (Groups).

- Select elements, Ctrl + C. The status line reports 3 copied and right after Copied — click the base point (with snap) · ESC = without, paste centered.
- Click the base point (1) — the point that should hang at the pointer when pasting: Base point set — Ctrl+V pastes at the cursor (angle/factor/mirror adjustable). During the query the pointer shows a crosshair, and every snap mode applies — including the grid snap, so the base point can sit exactly on a grid point. Without a base point (Esc or right-click — Base point selection cancelled — Ctrl+V pastes centered) the copy hangs at its centre.
The package is additionally written as text into the system clipboard — the base point that was set is added afterwards; so the most recent copy always wins, also from another browser window with LiberoDraft.
Paste
Ctrl + V starts placing: the copy hangs at the pointer (2), the placement HUD shows angle and factor; the status line reports Standard part "Kopie": a click places it (multiple times possible) · R=rotate · H/V=mirror · +/−=scale · ESC/right-click finishes.
- Click places a copy — with object snap at the base point; further clicks place further ones.
- R / Shift + R rotates by ±90°, Ctrl + wheel in 1° steps; H / V mirrors; + / − changes the factor; B sets the base point anew (Keys while placing).
- Every click reports Element(s) pasted (2×) — keep clicking or ESC to finish; Esc or right-click finishes: Placement finished — 2 standard part(s) inserted.
The pasted elements come with dimensions, hatches, welds and constraints. The confirmation is uniformly Element(s) pasted. — without a list per object type.
Cut
Ctrl + X copies the selection as above, deletes it immediately and does not ask for a base point: 3 object(s) cut — Ctrl+V pastes at the cursor, Ctrl+Z restores — elements, dimensions and hatches are counted together. When pasting, the copy hangs centred at the pointer — cut and paste is thus a move via the clipboard, also into another sheet. Without a selection: Cut: please select elements first (dimensions and hatches travel with their elements).
Dimensions and hatches without elements
A selection of only dimensions or hatches can be copied, cut and pasted as well — this applies to Ctrl + C, Ctrl + X, to Copy group and to the exchange between browser windows.
Dimensions that stand on their own can travel along:

Whatever cannot travel alone stays behind; the status line appends · n dimension(s) without reference skipped. If nothing at all is left, it reports Nothing copied — when cutting, nothing is deleted in that case either.
A hatch without its boundary elements travels as an independent hatch: boundary and islands are stored with it, no new binding to elements is created at the destination. The paste point is the gizmo point if it is visible, otherwise the centre of dimension points, dimension texts and hatch boundaries. When rotating and mirroring, an angle dimension travels along completely.
Options and relations
- Dimensions and hatches travel with their elements; without elements the rules under Dimensions and hatches without elements apply.
- Every placement is a step for Undo; after Ctrl + X, Ctrl + Z restores the originals.
- An image from the system clipboard is pasted by Ctrl + V as an image element; if a LiberoDraft package lies there, the more recent one wins.
The messages when pasting speak of standard part — placing uses the same path as inserting a standard part; the name of the copy is Kopie (program version v3.0.31). The confirmation when placing, by contrast, no longer names an object type but reads Element(s) pasted..
