What belongs to annotation
Besides dimensions and hatches, LiberoDraft offers three free annotations:

| Leader | an arrow with text pointing at a spot |
| Remark | a yellow box with an arrow for notes during a design review |
The remark is a note for coordination, not part of the drawing in the technical sense; the leader, by contrast, is a genuine drawing annotation. Numbered references to bill-of-materials items are set with the item balloon.
Access
In the ribbon the tools sit in the group “Annotate”. At a window width of 1400 pixels this group is collapsed: “Dimension” is visible, and the chevron opens the list with every tool of the group.
In the classic toolbar “Text” and “Leader” are buttons of their own next to the “Dimension” family, whose drop-down list also holds the “Remark”.
All three can be reached through the command search ; the text additionally has the key X.
Layer, colour and visibility
New annotations are created on the active layer and inherit its colour and line width; the Z level is the current drawing level. In the panel “Layer”, texts, leaders and remarks can be shown and hidden as a whole class independently of the layers — the same row also governs what a viewport shows.
A text belonging to the design (material, surface) belongs on a layer of its own — that way it can be included or left out deliberately when printing and exporting DXF.
Defaults and attributes
Height, font, anchor point, bold and italic of the text as well as arrow size, text size, fill and text offset of the leader are remembered: the value used last is the default for the next element. A tool picks up the attributes of an existing element with the key J (“pick up attributes”) before drawing.
Everything can be changed afterwards in the panel “Properties” or by double-clicking the element:
