Copying a detail into another drawing

Goal#

A connection detail from drawing A should be pasted into drawing B — rotated by 90° and with a hole centre as attachment point.

Steps#

1. In drawing A select the detail and press Ctrl + C — Copied — click the base point (with snap) · ESC = without, paste centered.
2. Click the hole centre as base point (1); the pointer shows a crosshair, the snap Centre locks in.
3. Switch to the browser window with drawing B and press Ctrl + V — the detail hangs at the pointer (2).
4. Press R — the copy rotates by 90°; the placement HUD shows the angle.
5. Click the target point — Element(s) pasted (1×) — keep clicking or ESC to finish; end placing with Esc.

Result#

The detail lies rotated in drawing B, dimensions and hatches have come along. Further clicks before Esc place further copies; H or V mirrors, + / − scales. Within the same drawing with a fixed spacing it is shorter with the tool Copy.
