Gizmo on / off

Purpose

The gizmo is the handle that appears at a selection: two axis arrows for moving (red U, green V), an angle ring for rotating and a small window with the values. The command hides the gizmo for the session and shows it again — for instance when it gets in the way while clicking on small elements.

Access

  • Key: Ctrl + Shift + G.
  • Command search : type gizmo, entry Gizmo on / off (category View).

Procedure

One call toggles and reports Gizmo ON or Gizmo OFF; switching off also removes the value window. The state belongs to the current work and is not stored in the settings — after a restart the gizmo is on again.

Options

In the Settings dialog under Drawing & snap are the magnetic snap angle of the gizmo rotation (off, 5°, 10°, 15° factory, 30°, 45°, 90°) and the sector width (±, factory 3°): Gizmo rotation. Whether the value window is pinned or follows the element and whether it is collapsed is remembered locally (cad2d_gzPinned, cad2d_gizmoPanelCollapsed).
