How do I hatch in a viewport?
- Switch to paper space (layout) with the viewport.
- Start Hatch and set the spacing — here it applies in millimetres on paper and is not scaled with the viewport scale.
- Click inside the viewport into the desired area of the model geometry. The status bar reports Hatch created in the viewport.
The program first checks whether an area of sheet geometry lies around the click (e.g. a rectangle drawn on the sheet) and hatches that; only a drawing frame enclosing the whole viewport does not count. If no sheet area is found, the search reaches through into the model.
Note
The through-hatch is updated after model changes as soon as the sheet is displayed, printed or exported. If the viewport is deleted, updating is no longer possible — create the hatch anew then.
Tip
To select the hatch, click inside the area; to select the viewport, click its frame. The seed point can only be moved within the viewport.
