Dividing an edge evenly

Goal#

Place bores at equal intervals along an edge or an arc without calculating the spacing.

Steps#

1. Ribbon, group “Draw” → chevron on the Point button → “Distribute points”.
2. Click the edge.
3. Enter the number in the prompt (default 5).
4. Click further elements or end with Esc.
5. Draw circles at the points — with the point snap P they lock on exactly.
6. If needed, create the coordinate table over the same points.

Result#

Evenly spaced points as a reference for bores, dimensions and the coordinate table. The element divided stays unchanged.
