Coordinate table
Purpose
Creates a table with a running number and the X and Y value from the points in the drawing and places the item numbers at the points. The usual case: a hole pattern whose coordinates are read off in the workshop or transferred to a machine.
Access
- Ribbon: group “File”, button Coordinates (4).
- Classic toolbar: group “File & import/export” — in the overflow menu “☰” at 1400 pixels.
- Command search : “coordinate table” (category File).
- No keyboard shortcut.
Procedure
- Place points — by hand with Point or evenly with Distribute points.
- Call the command. The dialog “Coordinate table” states at the top how many points were found.
- Set title, decimal places, font and the switches for header row, frame, columns and item numbers.
- “Create table” — the table hangs on the pointer, a click places it by its top-left corner; Esc or a right-click cancels.
- The status bar reports “Coordinate table placed (n elements) — new group "name"”.
What is created
The table consists of lines and texts — not of a table object of its own. All parts sit together in a new group and can therefore be moved and deleted together. The order of the numbers is the order in which the points sit in the drawing.
Note
The table is a snapshot. If you move, add or delete points afterwards, create the table anew and delete the old one.
Effect
Placing is one undo step. If there are no points, the dialog says so and the command ends without a table.
