Dialog Import drawing

The dialog appears after the file selection in the command Import drawing. There is no Esc here; Cancel closes without effect.

Header line#

File "Name": n elements, m dimensions, k sheets — what the chosen file contains. The name is the file name without extension; it becomes the block name if inserted as a block.

Insertion form#

• loose elements (recommended): the elements come individually into the drawing, dimensions and hatches along; they stay individually editable.
• as one block: the content becomes a block definition, in the drawing stands one instance (Blocks). Several placed copies share the definition.

Placement#

• place at the mouse (click, several times possible): the content hangs in orange at the pointer; every click puts it down, Esc ends. Rotating, mirroring and scaling as with a standard part (Placing HUD).
• insert at original coordinates: the content lands immediately where it lay in the source file.

Import sheets as well#

Takes over the sheets of the paper space of the source file. Selectable only if the file contains sheets and loose elements with at original coordinates is chosen; otherwise the checkbox is locked and below it stands Only selectable with "at original coordinates" and "loose elements" or The file contains no sheets.

Cancel, Import#

Cancel closes without change. Import executes; if the file contains no geometry, the status bar reports The file contains no importable geometry. The import is one step for Undo.
