Stack: Z level of the selection

Purpose

The four commands put the selected elements, hatches and dimensions on another Z level and thus change what lies on top.

Access

  • Keys: Ctrl + bring to front, Page ↑ one level up, Page ↓ one level down, Ctrl + send to back.
  • Right-click menu of the drawing area, bottom block (1–4).
  • Tool window, section “Z level” (1–4).
  • “Properties” panel, row “Z level”: ⇊ ↓ ↑ ⇈.
  • Command search : “Stapel”, “ebene” (the entries are labelled in German).

Bring to front

Puts the selection on the highest occupied level + 1 — above everything else. Status bar: “Brought to front (n objects)”.

One level up

Raises the level of every selected object by 1 (“One level up (n objects)”).

One level down

Lowers the level by 1 (“One level down (n objects)”).

Send to back

Puts the selection on the lowest occupied level − 1 — below everything else (“Sent to back (n objects)”).

Rules

  • Without a selection nothing happens.
  • Every call is one undo step; the “Z levels” section and the “Properties” panel are updated.
  • The drawing Z level for new objects does not change (Drawing Z level).
  • For all dimensions at once there is Dimensions to back.
